Rapunzel Rapunzel

last week was a disaster in many ways. no need to elaborate. i did enough whining.
but regardless of disasters, i usually manage to hold it together and entertain myself.
to make shitty days less shitty, i make art and other creative stuff, i take luxurious baths, i enjoy a crossword or three.
in other words- i play.
last week i had lots of playtime, and i needed to approach my time as play- to get by...
after all, i was fucking trapped, like rapunzel, for days
stuck in a place i had no apartment key to lock up behind me- if i got a lift out- an hour away from home without a car.
soo weird.
what did i do, you inquire?

i played with tarot- the tiniest rider-waite deck EVER, and therefor- the cutest deck ever.
come on- they are 1"x1/2".
really.

i was shuffling the best one can with one inch cards, then 7 cards fell exactly into my lap.
note: the journal on my lap is an image from this mexican old divination card set.

fliperoo.
before i turned them over, i made up a spread/designation for the fallen layout.

then i chose an extra- a clarity card. [hanged man.]

quickie interpretation:
dogmatic pressures seeps up from my roots - [yup.] peer pressure leads to bad advice- [yup.] overly receptive to judgemental male authority figure. [duh.] giving out energy in business world, and making solid decisions- [nice, and yup.] skills attained by hard work has paid off for material growth [finally.] be cautious of over-sentimentality [too true.] beware of moving too quickly in business, must overcome more obstacles first [oh- great.]
c.c.- culmination of spirit and physical world coming up. more self-love needed. new beginnings on horizon. take time apart to reverse past thoughts [alrighty then.]
good stuff, no?

the following day, i chilled with a couple of my home-bound furry friends. i snapped a few shots, but this one is a keeper:

BB.

i did more crosswords, and painted my nails. you can peep them in the pic below-
and yes, i chipped them the same day.
oh well.

then i got this boost in my fortune cookie:

smart cookie!

i finally got home, but i needed to toss my hair down the tower to get out.
but rather than rest up, i went hiking with my friend.
after 6+ solid days of rainy dreary boggy ick- we needed to appreciate some sun on our skin.

as soon as we entered the forest, it was enchanting!

looks remarkably like fly agaric, but sadly, was not.

a faerie hammock in a knot hole.

this was 2" high

i didn't get my camera out fast enough, but there was a doe curiously watching us from up top

g. got ahead, as i was frantically running around after these metallic green (mating) beetles

sweaty from my bout of voyeurism

after we drove away, we stopped in here for a bit

i used to go here alot as a little kid, but never remembered where it was, since i always went with my relatives- who died when i was still a young teen.
cool to know again.

wife of hard summers

i thought it was a cruel summer... did bananarama lie to me?
those twats!

i love the jaunty stone angles

creepy/sweet angel

so many things growing on a stone marking the burial place of the dead

i loved these mini-daisies

the stone in the background from above

old graveyards are one of my favorite places to visit.
i used to spend hours each day at an old cemetery near my house growing up.
they are always peaceful places to go read, paint, or chill and relax and do nothing.

so -although i was a whiney mess for a day- i was productive and managed to enjoy myself a bit too.
waaahahh.

i'm over it.

  1. Glad you're better, but how bizarre that I ask you about turkey and then you paint your nails with what looks to me like their national luck charm.

And then you find a headstone with my sisters name on it ?

    *hums twilight zone theme*

  2. is your sister sarah or abigail?
also- i'm greek, [among other nationalities] and have always loved the eye totems- this week i'm sporting a silver base nail with magenta/coral/white/black bullseye spots.

    no co-incedences for me.

  3. bananarama NEVER lies!

one of my favorite things to do when i'm stressed is paint my nails, hate the color, and then pick the polish off the next day at work. so i think you've got the right idea with hiking and baths
